Deco Records will be bringing some of their favourite acts to The Eagle this May:
Bethlehem Casuals combine a world of influence, heavy grooves and tribal drum circles all with a distinctly urban twist of folk rock to create urban rock styled DIY world music.
BILK are three musicians creating a unique angsty blend of indie, rap and punk from the suburbs of Essex. Their honest social commentary is at real as it gets, reflecting the highs and lows of British youth culture today. Their debut single Give Up and Spiked released at the start of 2018 was championed by John Kennedy at Radio X, BBC Introducing, 6Music and Amazing Radio where both debut tracks reached number 1 on the Amazing Chart. Their fresh sound impressed indie tastemakers such as DORK, The Blue Walrus and a host of international music blogs.
Manchester-based, six-piece experimental rock band who incorporate spoken word with elements of jazz, drone, sci-fi and industrial sounds. Imagine John Cooper Clarke and Tom Waits pissed at a Bury bus stop, arguing over which Nico album is best.
“An act true to the alternative, Slow Knife fire out a music erratic and unstopped, fusing jazz and punk through a science fiction filter to create a bass-driven creature that would make Jez Kerr and A Certain Ratio grin”
– Will Wolstenholme – Bitter Sweet Symphonies
“With the conviction of a preacher frontman Daniel Tasker delivers exceptionally crafted spoken word poetry. Furious vocals are backed by a riotously experimental set, which includes the elegant use of harmonium and devilish saxophone that expands on the deep sense of free-form jazz and lyricism this band cultivates; imagine a blend of R.E.M.’s political consciousness with the style and righteous madcap joy of Tom Waits and you may come close” – Hannah Clark, The Skinny
