Quarantine presents The Making of Justice: Film Screening & Discussion
- Buy Tickets
Seven prisoners work on the screenplay for a crime film together. Like the main character they are making up, they are all guilty of murder.
In this film by Sarah Vanhee, we the viewers can only guess whether they are using fiction as a means of confirming, transcending or transforming their present situation.
‘The Making of Justice’ (2017) addresses criminality as a parallel reality, the nature of justice and what society would be like if it was oriented towards healing rather than retribution.
Join us for a screening of the film followed by a discussion with director Sarah Vanhee.
“The justice system is not synonymous with justice itself. The justice system means the application of rules, but justice is a human capacity.”
Sarah Vanhee is an artist, performer and author from Belgium. Her interdisciplinary work travels between civil spaces and the art world. She has worked in open fields, prisons, private living rooms, theatres, and in corporate meeting rooms.
